Inspired by the ojo de buey, a once-essential ornamental and functional feature of Puerto Rican architecture, this piece celebrates a design that allowed light and air to enter the home, while shaping the visual landscape of our streets, houses, and collective memory.
This design draws from ojos de buey found in the sub-barrio of Ubarri, in the urban center of Río Piedras, where a few still remain on building facades as echoes of another era. Today, many of these details are at risk of disappearing as modernization reshapes our neighborhoods. This piece seeks to preserve their story and significance as part of the island’s landscape.
Each piece is carefully designed, tested, and crafted to be timeless, stainless, and long lasting. Available in 14k gold filled. Necklace length: 17” + 2.5” extension.
